Lorewell is run by Telescope Ltd, which is responsible for your data under UK data protection law. This page says what Lorewell keeps about you and your campaigns, who helps run it, and what you can do about it. Questions: chris@telescope.design.
What Lorewell keeps
- Your account: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google.
- Your campaigns: the files Lorewell keeps for each campaign (people, places, sessions, recaps, prep sheets), the changes waiting for your review, your chats with Lorewell, and the pictures and maps you add or have drawn.
- Session recordings: the audio of a session you record or upload. By default it's deleted as soon as it's transcribed; you can keep it for 30 days instead in the campaign's settings. The text transcript stays with the session so its recap can be checked and rewritten.
- Billing: your subscription status. Card details go to Stripe and never reach Lorewell.
- How the app is used: page views, which features you use and errors, to fix problems and improve Lorewell.
Recording the table
Before you record, you confirm that everyone at the table has agreed to be recorded. Getting that agreement is your responsibility as the person running the game. Don't record anyone who hasn't agreed.
Who helps run Lorewell
These services process data for Lorewell, only to provide it:
- Anthropic runs Lorewell's agent and keeps each campaign's files in its memory stores. Transcripts, your notes and your campaign files are sent to it to write recaps, prep and drafts, and to answer you in chat.
- Deepgram turns session audio into text.
- Google draws pictures and maps from the descriptions you give, and handles Google sign-in if you use it.
- Convex hosts Lorewell's database and file storage. Vercel hosts the website.
- Stripe handles payments and subscriptions, as the seller of record.
- Resend sends sign-in links and emails about your account.
- PostHog measures how the app is used. Sentry records errors.
The trust page lists what each service receives and links to its own policy.
Sharing
A recap you share is visible to anyone with its link, without your DM-only notes and secrets. You can stop sharing at any time, and the link stops working straight away.
Your choices
- Delete a recording, or choose how long audio is kept.
- Archive a campaign: it leaves your list and its files are archived.
- Export a campaign from its settings: its files, pictures and maps, and separately its transcripts and recap history.
- Delete a campaign from its settings, or your whole account from your account page. Everything goes, from Lorewell and from the services above, and deleting your account cancels your subscription.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for your account and its data to be deleted, at chris@telescope.design.
If you're unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
